A hardwood forest, stream crossings, tons of technical single track, and long distance views are just the begining of what is awaiting your arival.
Fort Mountain State Park, tucked away in the North Georgia Mountains, is enjoyed by hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and those seeking a place to just get away.
The parks lake marks our start and finish for this 2013 search.
THIS IS A VERY TECHNICAL COURSE. WE DO NOT SUGGEST THIS COURSE FOR A FIRST TIME TRAIL EXPERIENCE.
For each course, be ready for some elevation ups and downs, jumping downed trees (we lost count after 12), crawling under downed trees, ducking under low hanging limbs, tight turns, negotiating jagged stones and stumps, getting your feet wet at stream crossings, and braving anything else mother nature decides to throw your way. Because of the time of the year and high elevation there is also a possibility of ice on the trail.
This is a natural trail through a forest.
Register Early this course is limited to the first 150 online entrants.
Short Course $30.00 until March 15, then $50.00
Long Course $45.00 until March 15, then $65.00
There is a $5 fee to park at this park( We suggest Carpooling)
